Taking good impressions can be expensive, even more so when you have to take them more than once! Add to that the cost of disinfecting laboratory work and the time and PPE spent doing so and you can see why a digital workfow can make dentures more economical.
Dentistry post COVID is a new challenge entirely; now more than
ever surgery time is precious and digital workfows are the
solution:
- Save time on impressions;
- Reduce clean-up and disinfection time;
- Reduce the total number of visits;
- Reduce delivery and postal times.
Analogue workfows contain a number of stages where inaccuracies can be introduced; we can take the guess work out of dentures and deliver precise, reproducible results.
Even when taking impressions, our digital workfows means less visits in total for patients as well as getting their dentures from start to fnish quicker. Additionally, dentures can be saved in case of loss or damage.
Traditional impressions require multiple cross infection
exposures in surgery, then out of surgery as the work is being
transported to the laboratory.
The graphic below shows the respective infection risks with both
fully analogue and fully digital workfows.
